Valliin was an ordinary courier who traveled between levels. He knew the routes well and always arrived on time.
One day, Valliin decided to surprise the one he loved and tried to obtain a fragment of Sintrium — a rare metal with a soft, sky-like glow, sometimes found in the old mechanical nodes of the Architects. Sintrium reacts to the warmth of hands and begins to glow.
The fragment was located inside an old mechanism, in a dangerous zone accessible only to experienced mechanics. To make it in time and avoid drawing attention, Valliin chose an unexplored path.
The passage was technical, running through a cable conduit. Inside the structure, the lighting became uneven, with gaps where objects would vanish from sight for a brief moment. There was the mechanism. And there was the fragment — smooth, faceted.

The air trembled as if before a powerful discharge, and the metal around him entered a low, continuous vibration. Valliin had stepped into a zone of unstable energy. A flash lit the passage, a sharp crack followed — and Valliin vanished.

When the area was later examined, only Valliin’s courier token and a note of confession were found — addressed to the one for whom he had gone there.
Since then, this day has been known as the Day of the Lovestruck Valliin.
On this day, lovers give each other tokens bearing the names of their beloved and notes with hearts glowing in a soft blue light, and the words: “I chose the path to you, even if it is not marked on any map.”
